US stocks are still ailing, automakers pleading for aid again

The Wall Street Journal gave coverage to main events in the economy life of America. US stock futures were mostly flat Thursday as auto makers headed back to Capitol Hill in their bid to get aid for their industry and as retailers began reporting monthly sales. About 2 hours before the start of the trading DJIA futures were lower at 8536 while the S&P 500 futures were flat at 867.8, and NASDAQ 100 futures were down one point at 1155.

Being at first sight just the usual numbers they however reflect the most important events in the world economy. Almost 80 years ago a prominent index known as Dow Jones Industrial Average or DJIA displayed horrible data in its charts, the data that marked the beginning of Great Depression.
