Security researchers usually deploy automation and virtualisation technologies to cope with the growing volume of malware spewed out by cybercrooks every day. Knowing this cyber crooks use virtual machine detection and anti-debugging code in their creations. This increases the time for security analysts to detect, develop and distribute anti-virus updates.

 According to the security researchers, the relatively unknown Spy Eye toolkit added this feature called "Kill Zeus” just a few days ago in a bid to displace its larger rival.

First arrests made by the UK Police Central E-crime Unit

First arrests were made this week by the UK Police Central E-crime Unit (PCeU) that was formed in September last year, with £7.4 million in funding over three years. In association with a "virtual task force" that includes members of the financial services industry the unit arrested nine suspects in southeast London in connection with money laundering, computer misuse and conspiracy to defraud using malware designed to compromise online bank accounts.

On Saturday a security agency ScanSafe found LuckySploit banking malware on PaulMccartney.com, the official Web site of Paul McCartney, that targeted visitors, the number of which was increasing since the former Beatles' reunion gig with Ringo Starr. McCartney and Starr got together for the first time in seven years at the David Lynch fundraiser concert in New York on Saturday.
