IMF's Strauss-Kahn urges the need of global cooperation to weather crisis

IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn appealed the US, Britain and other countries to cooperate on new policies and regulations in the wake of the financial crisis.

As he claimed at the annual Herziliya Conference, at the onset of the crisis, world leaders were "scared" and agreed to work together to cancel out the crisis. However, at present, countries are formulating policies on their own.

Microsoft develops its Office suite for Nokia phones

Wednesday Microsoft is to announce cooperation with the world's cellphone producing leader, Nokia. This alliance means making Microsoft’s Office suite of applications available on devices made by Nokia.

The announcement is to be carried out by Stephen Elop, head of Microsoft's Business Division, which makes the Office suite of applications, and Kai Oistamo, executive vice president of Nokia Devices.

Alibaba partners with Bank of China to better support Alipay payment system

Thursday, China's e-commerce leader Alibaba Group announced about its collaboration with the Bank of China on international business development and domestic programs expanding.

This deal follows senior Alibaba executives visit to Silicon Valley earlier this year, who met with such companies as Google, eBay and Amazon.com in order to discuss possible partnerships. Thus, Alibaba raised the topics, including bringing its online auction and payment platforms to the US.
