Clear2Pay, a Belgian electronic payment company, has gained a financing of EUR50 million in an investment round led by New York private equity firm Aquiline Capital Partners.
According to the company statement the funds which also include money from current Clear2Pay investors, will be used for the company's "next stage of growth and potential strategic acquisitions".

Alcatel-Lucent in association with its venture, touchatag and Clear2Pay, a global payment solutions provider, have partnered for the launch of a mobile payment framework for mobile operators.
Under this framework initiative users will be able to make purchases, buy tickets or transfer money using their mobile phone. For example, by placing a Near Field Communications (NFC) enabled mobile phone over scanners at a point-of-sale terminal, a user can use his phone as a wallet.

PBS, a Nordic payment provider and Clear2Pay, a Belgian technology provider of next generation payment solutions for financial institutions, reported that the PBS Sepa service has been certified by the EBA for Direct Debit processing via Step2. PBS is one of the largest payment processors outside the euro area and as of today it has 120 clients for the SDD processing service. The service, powered by Clear2Pay's Open Payment Framework technology, is one of the first of to be fully compliant with Step2. |

Belgian payment system Clear2Pay has established an agreement with Hong Kong-based Bank of East Asia (BEA) to provide it with the dedicated technology that will allow the bank to connect to the People's Bank of China's Electronic Commercial Draft System (ECDS).
Chinese central bank launched the ECDS initiative so as to standardise all letter of credit or commercial draft agreements in an electronic format and it requires all banks operating in China to connect over the next few years.

Belgian payments outfit Clear2Pay will acquire all shares in Beijing-based vendor ETH Tech, which was founded in 2004 and focuses on business intelligence for banks, financial institutions, government agencies and large corporations.
Among the company's clients are China Construction Bank, China National Clearing Centre, Bank of China and the central bank, People's Bank of China.

International payments solutions provider Clear2Pay entered into agreement with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia to provide it with its Open Payment Framework. The OPF will allow the bank to implement its Unified Payments Capability program.
As the CBA explains, the Unified Payments Capability program is aimed at incorporating its payment processing into one central technology while including both retail and wholesale payments. The program’s prime focus is on online card related transactions.

Central bank introduces Clear2pay cheque imaging technology instead of its cheque processing one.
OGA is a local Clear2Pay partner has been signed a contract to implement the image cheque clearing system which will be based on the European vendor's service-oriented Open Payment Framework (OPF) that lets to migrate from paper cheque clearing system that is currently in use to the unified image-based technology.
