Chinese can now purchase Ukash vouchers via China Union Pay card

A prepaid cash issuing provider Ukash announced the launch of its online issuing service in China. The move marks the company’s commitment to make online shopping available for everyone across the globe.

Through this partnership, consumers are able to order their unique voucher through an online ‘pinshop’ and pay using their China Union Pay branded debit card which is issued by all major banks in China.

China Union Pay enables Oberthur to provide plastic cards in China

Wednesday, Oberthur Technologies Shenzhen manufacturing site, the global electronic transaction standard, outlining interaction between smart cards and merchant terminals to ensure worldwide inter-operability, announced successful completing of China Union Pay certification.

The completion of CUP certification makes Oberthur Technologies to become the first major smart card vendor in China to be certified for all 4 schemes for magnetic stripe, contact and dual interface cards.
