Motorola makes call interception an official service, for some users

Motorola is planning to release a new product to allow parents control the mobile calls of their children and intercept their conversations. While there is nothing new in such kind of services previously they relied on a compliant network operator and/or a customized handset. As for Motorola it is launching a completely new technology that allows parental control on any handset on any network by intercepting communication with the SIM.

Microsoft is developing a new version of Internet Explorer 8 in association with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre. The browser will provide parents and children with easy access to advice and information.

Such a customized browser is being designed by Microsoft to provide users with the opportunity to adjust their browser so that they can get direct access to CEOP's advice pages.
