Cybersource survey recorded $ 4 billion to online fraud this year

It is expected that U. S. companies specialized on electronic commerce will lose a record $ 4 billion to online fraud this year. It is the result of annual Cybersource survey on e-commerce fraud. According to that research e-commerce fraud rise is observed over 2007, when it set the previous record of $ 3.7 billion. And the Data of 2008 are not surprising. It represents 1.4 percent of merchants' total online revenue for the year.

PayPal uses the popular Nigerian 419 scam model?

According to the recent investigation of the INQ a variant of the extremely popular Nigerian 419 scam is possible via Paypal. The company understanding the ineptitude of this statement has provided some proofs.  

The 419 scam is named after the relevant section of the Nigerian Criminal Code and the premise is always the same. Somebody offers to pay money into your account and give you a cut when you send it back.

Now it covers the full purchase price and original shipping costs of the eBay.com purchases with no coverage limit. This is an increase and a simplification from the previous coverage limits of $2000 and $200, which varied depending on the feedback of the seller.
