American Express agreed to acquire Accertify Inc, a leading provider of solutions to prevent online and other card-not-present fraud transactions. Launched in 2007 Accertify provides a hosted software application that offers an extra level of security for transactions over any of the major payment networks, including American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, PayPal or any other alternative payment method.

 VeriFone Holdings has introduced its new payment solution called PAYware Mobile which is meant for the Apple iPhone. The company says that the solution provides small businesses with simple and secure card processing capabilities on the popular smartphone platform.

January 15 was scheduled for the shipping of the hardware and software solution which is available free to those who sign up for a PAYware Mobile secure gateway service agreement. 

 An international payment solutions provider for the card-not-present marketplace Payvision announced that it has appointed Jim Mouzakiotis as the new Director of Sales, Midwest Region for Payvision and Joe Rodriguez as the new Director of Sales, East Coast Region.
