Fed publishes longer-term economic projections

On Wednesday Federal Reserve began publishing officials’ longer-term projections for five or six years from now for inflation, economic growth and unemployment to anchor public expectations for prices, as an addition to the current three-year forecasts, are to appear beginning with minutes of the January, 27-28 Federal Open Market Committee meeting.

Randall S. Kroszner leaves the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System

Randall S. Kroszner submitted his resignation Monday as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, effective January 21, 2009.

Kroszner, who has been a member of the Board since March 1, 2006, submitted his letter of resignation to President Bush. He will return to the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago to assume a newly created chaired professorship.
