Bank of America has introduced a new service dubbed as eBanking to allow customers to bank via electronic channels and receive statement on the Internet. Consumers who make deposits and withdrawals via eBanking as well as receive statements online will not have to pay monthly fee irrespective of their account balance or number of transactions in a given month. Otherwise, the customer pays for the value of the account through an $8.95 monthly maintenance fee. |

The stolen data from HSBC’s Swiss private banking arm continue their plague of being used by national authorities for tax evasion investigations. Now Spain is using the data to conduct a probe.
Herve Falciani stole account data for around 79,000 clients three years ago and fled to France while under investigation before eventually handing it over to authorities.
Earlier, in April French prosecutor Eric de Montgolfier studied decrypted files and initiated an investigation into tax evasion on the basis of over 8000 accounts related to French customers. |

Monitise, the mobile banking firm, conducted a research in conjunction with the Future Foundation think-tank, showed that one in five Brits would rather use a computer or mobile phone to check their bank statement compared than call a phone banking centre.
According to research, just one in 20 were happy to use these methods to manage their money in 2002.
The research also highlighted that 18 to 25 year olds are most happy to use the internet and mobile phone banking. |
