Warka Bank launches suite of MasterCard payment products in Iraq

 Warka Bank, a leading investment and finance institution in Iraq, today announced the launch of a suite of MasterCard payment solutions for consumers and businesses in Iraq. At the same time, Warka Bank also unveiled the completion of its ATM network and the bank’s plan to establish the widest point-of-sale (POS) network in Iraq. Warka Bank will process MasterCard credit and debit transactions through its extensive ATM and POS networks throughout the market.

Barclays online banking goes down again

As Barclays online banking services were mainly unavailable this morning, several customers emailed The Register to complain that, once again, they could not access their accounts. A spokeswoman for Barclays confirmed there was a problem and promised to learn what it was.

Either the bank has been plagued with problems or a disproportionate number of Reg readers use the bank's online services.

First Data will implement the joint ATM Network for three Lithuanian banks

First Data, a worldwide leader in electronic commerce and payment processing services, will manage and maintain the joint ATM network of three Lithuania banks. Two of the banks – Nordea Bank Lietuva and Danske Bankas already have an ATM network which was carried out by First Data in 2006 and the ATMs of the third bank – Ukio Bankas – will join the network in a few months.

American Express has announced its partnership with Golomt Bank under which the bank became the exclusive merchant acquirer and processor of American Express transactions in Mongolia. This partnership enabled the AmEx cardholders to access the Golomt Bank's merchant ATM network throughout Mongolia.
