United States is losing dominance in Asia, Obama has nothing to bring there

 As US President Barack Obama starts his trip to Asia on Thursday he faces serious challenges in the region posed by increasing importance of China who in the near term will become the largest economy displacing thus Japan from its number 1 position. Soon after becoming a new prime minister in Japan Yukio Hatoyama announced plans to form a new East Asian trading bloc with rival China - one that would exclude the United States. That means the US dominance in the Asia-Pacific region is under threat posed by China.

Online payment security satisfies Asia-Pasific online shoppers

Visa’s research revealed that 61 % of online shoppers in the Asia-Pacific region are satisfied with current levels of online payment security, but more can be done. Through market research firm Ipsos, the payment card company surveyed over 9,100 Internet users in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea and Singapore who went online at least once a week.

MasterCard has found the most charitable people

MasterCard Worldwide has published the results of the survey conducted between 1 to 29 September 2008 aimed to know how many people are going to open their hearts and to be charitable this season. Survey has covered a total of 6,019 consumers in 14 markets. The data was collected via personal, telephone and Computer Aided Telephone interviews, with the questionnaire translated to the local language wherever appropriate and necessary.

Asia-Pacific and India are happy with online shopping

Visa conducted a study to track the state of ecommerce in the Asia-Pacific region. The survey revealed that within the last 12 months 75% of the respondents purchased at least any form of digital entertainment online. Among the most popular digital categories were music downloads purchased by 63% of the polled.
