Thursday, Microsoft published some FAQ's and their respective answers in an update on its Search Alliance with Yahoo. 

One question Microsoft took on was that of ad positioning between the two search engines. As said Microsoft's representative Carolyn Miller "Your ad rank on Yahoo! and Bing search engine results pages will be the same."

Online brokerage company E*Trade is being sued by an actress Lindsay Lohan over its "milkaholic" baby in a recent TV commercial from the online broker. The actress seeks damages of $100 million alleging that the commercial is based on her.

The commercial features a baby explaining to his girlfriend via a Web cam that he failed to call her the previous night because he was managing his portfolio on the firm's site.

YouTube seems unprofitable for Google

New details were unveiled about Google’s problems with its online music business. According to Credit Suisse's Spencer Wang, YouTube will lose parent Google $470 million this year as it can't generate rewarding revenue from advertising. Against revenue of $240.9 million this year, Wang estimates bandwidth costs are £360.4 million and royalties $252.9 million, reported the Register.

On Friday the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York ruled that Rescuecom's litigation against Google should be considered and the latter should defend a trademark lawsuit by Rescuecom Corp over advertisements related to keyword searches. Earlier the case against Google was dismissed by a U.S. District Court.

Television appears to be a leader in purchasing decision influence in five major markets (US, UK, Japan, Germany and Brazil), leaving the second position even for Internet as well traditional media: magazines, newspapers and radio. That was shown by the Deloitte market study in September and October 2008.

Television dominate despite the fact that majority of consumers in all this five countries say their computers were used more for entertainment than their TVs.
