Google changes its main search page interface

According to the posting on the website of The Register magazine Google is now testing a new appearance of its search page which will feature cleaner, bolder graphics and a default side bar. However it is not certain if the company will after all launch this new interface.

As it is shown on the screenshots the revised Google logo ditches its 3D shading and shadows while the search buttons switch to white text against a bright blue gradient background.

The appearance of the search results also have been changed with the left column added to the page. The column suggests a user to select between image, video, news, maps, and other kinds. Besides, the sidebar like in Bing’s version also includes a list of similar searches with the option to filter the results based on the date Google sniffed out the website.
