White lie or again Paypal

Not long ago some interesting news has leaked out into press. It became known that police caught several criminals charging them with online fraud and the court sentenced them to various terms of imprisonment. All those cases had one thing in common - eBay, all that crimes were related to world-known Internet auction site.

But not the news is surprising that much as the reaction of eBay that shocked everybody. The official bodies flatly refused to comment this news and to disclose the exact number of frauds resulted in police accusation and added that they were "a fraction of a percentage" of the total amount on online transactions made by eBay daily.

And this reaction is understandable as such news only damages the prestige of the company and cripples PayPal, its payment service that goes through the difficult period itself.

We'll remind that PayPal is not competitive due its weak security system and swiftly cedes its position to more powerful companies.
