Wausau Financial Systems (WFS) announced that it is determined to make a presentation of its new solution for mobile payments, GreenPayments at the upcoming AFP Annual Conference.

Earlier this year WFS established a partnership with ClairMail, the leader in 2-way mobile phone-based customer interaction to extend WFS' industry-leading receivables solutions which will include mobile phone payments as part of their receivables processing offering to customers.

With WFS' GreenPayments solution financial institutions and corporations will be able to accept, post and clear payments made via ClairMail's 2-way mobile payments platform. GreenPayments is an opportunity to gain new expedited fee income. The expedited payments were sized by Javelin Research as a $2 billion missed opportunity for billers.

GreenPayments allows customers to authorize transactions from a pre-registered account which is very convenient as it enables recurring payments while keeping them in control of when money leaves their account.

Customers paying via GreenPayments receive a 2-way actionable alert message on their mobile phones with bill payment details such as payee name, dollar amount and due date. They can reply to the message to instantly pay the bill from their mobile phone. In case the customer decides not to pay at that time, he will receive up to two more bill payment alerts and can pay by simply responding with a "yes" reply.
