Visa announced the launch of eMarketplace, its online portal where sellers and buyers can meet and cut the deal, carrying out transactions by means of Visa purchasing cards. This launch became possible owing to ICICI Bank and Elcom Systems, and this service will be the first one launched by Visa in the Asia-Pacific.

A new service provides online buyers with an opportunity to learn more about the offered goods and services by entering product catalogues of the sellers.  Visa Purchasing Cards meant for low-value high-volume purchase of non-personal goods and services, guarantee the security and safety of the transactions.

The representatives of Visa in the person of Santanu Mukherjee, Visa International's South Asia Country Manager, have described a new service as follows: "Visa eMarketplace is designed to be an efficient, seamless and transparent procurement system for the commercial and Government sectors. It helps to eliminate the need for paper-based purchase orders and approvals."
