Vacant position at Wachovia

The position of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Wachovia Corporation held by Thomas J. Wurtz is to be vacant in the short run. Thomas J. Wurtz is leaving Wachovia. The company plans to immediately search for a replacement.

"I want to personally thank Tom for his many contributions to Wachovia," said Robert K. Steel, President and CEO of Wachovia. "Tom has been a professional partner and colleague and we are grateful for all he has done for the company."
