The figures show that in June 2008 12,038,000 people were unique visitors to online gambling sites which is a significantly large number taking into account that the population of the United States is 300,000,000. Thereby it may be said that one out of every 25 people in the United States visited an online gambling portal in June. In the following month the number increased 5% to 12,648,000.

In 2006 when the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was passed internet gambling websites came under fire. Thus the increase occurred in the industry proves to be very good news for online gambling enthusiasts.
