The recent survey conducted by Forrester Research has revealed that 68% of Dutch consumers use online banking. Owing to this showing the Netherlands occupy the first place in the list of the European countries, using online banking.

But it is not a limit and the number of consumers accessing online banking service is constantly increases. So, in 2001 only 15% of the Dutch consumers accessed online banking services. During the period of 2001 and 2007, their number increased by an annual rate of 30%.

Researches predict that during the next 5 years more than 1.5 million of Dutch consumers will take up online banking services, and the number of people using online banking services will grow from the existing 68% to 81%.

The reasons of such popularity are aggressive promotions, restricting service levels at branch counters and the relatively low density of bank branches in the country.
