[img_assist|nid=7644|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=83]Insufficient application of security system abroad increased the number of cases of frauds committed on credit and debit cards, which is high enough as it was.

Consumer magazine "Which?" reports, fraud on plastic cards was up by 25 per cent over the course of 2007.

In comparison with overseas countries, where percentage of fraudulent transaction leaped up by 77 per cent, the UK accounts or just six per cent. Analysts correlate the relatively minor increase with an extensive use of Chip and Pin system in UK.

Cathy Neal, a spokesperson for "Which?", recommended to countries with a weak payment protection system to apply practically Chip and Pin in order to ensure their payment transactions from the crooks.

She also stated that nowadays more frauds were observed than ever before so Chip and Pin had done a great work to stop fraud. Most of Europe has now introduced it and only America is still hesitating. She wondered "Why?"
