[img_assist|nid=9681|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=39]Huntington National Bank reports over ten times increase in adoption of its mobile banking service by the customers.

After the launch of the service in June 30 Huntington reached 870 percent of its monthly usage goal in July and is likely to exceed that by 40 percent in August. As per Brandon McGee, senior product manager for mobile banking the goal that was expected to be achieved in 8 months was gained in 4 weeks. Usually banks expect 3 percent to 4 percent of online households to subscribe for m-banking in the first year it's offered. Introducing mobile banking service banks typically target their online banking customers.

The number of Huntington’s retail customers amounts 1 million with 50% of them banking online. McGee noted that m-banking adoption with their customers exceeded their boldest objectives.

The success of the newly launched service is attributed to marketing campaign conducted by the bank. "We've ads on our home page, within online banking, on our ATMs and in statement stuffers," notes McGee.
