According to Eurosmart, 2007 marked a 20% growth of the smart card industry around the world. NanoMarkets, LC also published a report named "Thin-Film and Printed Batteries Markets" where it predicts a revenue of 265 million by 2010 from the sale of point-of purchase displays, powered smart cards, and other gadgets using a thin battery technology.

Solicore, the creator of Flexion flexible batteries, is a company that is powering up this new developing industry by providing a product that makes it possible to build in small displays onto plastic cards.  Using such feature with a credit or debit card transaction opens a door of unlimited opportunities to providing customers with secure and fraud resistant plastic cards.
