Security breach leads to credit cards cancellation

[img_assist|nid=9383|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=85]According to reports Irish banks are cancelling hundreds of credit cards after an incident that made them suspect of online security breach.

Some fraudsters penetrated into the database of one the country's leading retailers to steal the credit card details of its customers.

On Wednesday night after they tested stolen credit card details on a US website with a small amount to see if they would work the theft was discovered.

Banks in Ireland were immediately advised of the fact that of their customers may be at risk of identity fraud which incited banks to contact their customers and warn them to cancel their credit cards.
