[img_assist|nid=8600|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=100]Millions of online banking customers of UK high street bank Barclays will be offered free online security software developed by anti-virus vendor Kaspersky.

A free of charge licence for using Kaspersky security technology will be provided to the customers by Barclays for a period of 2 years. Usually the application use costs £51 for a year subscription.

The software includes anti-virus software as well as spyware, adware, firewalls, parental controls and spam filters and is available from the bank's Web banking site.

Previously the bank was offering free virus protection software from Finland-based F-Secure.

"As Internet fraudsters become more sophisticated it is important that customers protect their computers from all threats and not just viruses," says Sean Gilchrist, director of digital banking for Barclays.
