Remittance demand is met in India

Online money transfers are now available for the emigrants working on the territory of the UAE. Saturday Emirates in cooperation with India Post introduced a new system of online international remittance from the United Arab Emirates to Kerala.

Citizens of Kerala which at present live and exercise their work in the UAE yearly send home about Rs 250 billion and this is only an estimated figure. A significant part of transfers are made by means of illegal agents.

The system will largely contribute to indigent Malayalee group working in the UAE. The figure of these accounts for half a million people.

Money are planned to deliver right to the door of the customer. It will be possible due to Universal Postal Union's secure International Financial System.

51 head post offices in the state and Mahe will be enabled to issue money orders to the citizens. The amount is not to exceed $2500.

Minimum money amount sent is to be $12 in a year and maximum amount is $5000. Customers may receive their orders up to Rs20,000 in cash within 2 days at home. But the amounts which exceed Rs20,000 and reach Rs50,000 may be received only at the post office desk, as regards the sums over Rs50,000 the latter will be given by check. 11 dirhams are to be deducted for transfers received at the desk and 14 dirhams to be paid for delivery to the customer's address.

Post offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai undergrounds are to process e-money orders as well.
