Amazon payment Online merchants will be offered a new online payment service provided by Amazon.com. On Tuesday the company reported about its project which is to be in direct competition with eBay's PayPal and Google's Google checkout.

The newly developed platform, Checkout by Amazon, represents a "complete checkout solution" having such functions as Amazon's "one-click" payment option and tools for managing shipping charges, sales tax and promotions. A similar online payment processing system called Google Checkout was introduced by Google two years ago, but as analysts pose it, the system wasn’t very popular with merchants and consumers.

In addition Amazon is to offer Amazon Simple Pay, a service that allows consumers to use their Amazon account information to pay for purchases on some other Web sites. Simple Pay, being a competitor of PayPal, will most probably be rejected for purchases on eBay as the latter established a precedent in the past when it banned its customers from using Google Checkout, according to its accepted payments policy.
