Portugal will process Chinese cards

[img_assist|nid=8621|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=61] An agreement was signed by China UnionPay (CUP) and Portugal-based bank Caixa Geral de Depósitos (CGD). Under the terms of the contract CUP cardholders will be enabled to withdraw cash at ATMs across Portugal. CUP cardholders may use 13,000 ATMs displaying the CUP logo on their screen countrywide. Operating their cards via ATM cardholders can select the English language option.

In total CUP issued 1.5 billion cards last year. Similar contracts were concluded with the state systems of other countries in Europe. Among them there is France, Italy, Luxembourg, Turkey, the Netherlands and Spain.
