As it was announced in the official press-release of HSBC's bank the taken steps in upgrading its telephone system caused the fault that resulted thousands of the bank's client's being unable to process their financial transactions.

The enrolment was made in late Saturday that brought an intermittent fault in the Maestro system. As it was noticed by the HSBC's customers the system was shut down for six hours. The failure in the upgrading the banking phone network was explained by the incomplete software later integrated into the banking system. The most shocking fact is that the faulty software was written in the HSBC house that put shades on the level of IT capability of the bank. Initially the bank's officials tried to avoid the responsibility for the system's glitch explaining the occurred shut down of the banking system by the problems with the Maestro system, owned by MasterCard.

Let us ask one rhetoric question - if the integration of the upgraded phone network caused the shut down of the entire banking system than how strong is the system itself?
