Pay directly from taxi with Sprint systems and VTS

Owing to the partnership of Sprint-Nextel Corp. and VeriFone Holdings Inc. taxi business, VeriFone Transportation Systems (VTS) this “dream” came true. According to the official statement more than 6,000 yellow taxi cads will be equipped with a real-time integrated payment and information system provided by Sprint Mobile Broadband and Sprint Data Link enabling the taxi passengers to pay with their credit cards directly from the cab. 

The system has also a special screen on which the payer can see the fare, add some tips and to make payments by swiping his or her card. The system also supports Global Positioning System owing to which people can recover their things forgotten in the taxi, without great pains. One more feature of the delivered system support the broadcasting of the leading news channels. 

The similar taxi systems have already been launched in Philadelphia, Chicago and Las Vegas.
