The recent research held by BT shows that online retailers need to make every effort to ensure that consumers can easily access their websites via the mobile internet.

The survey covered the UK users of the Broadband Anywhere BT ToGo smartphone and revealed that a substantial number of these users resort to their mobile devices in order to get the latest information on shopping bargains in the Internet.

1/5 of the survey respondents told that they would welcome more e-commerce sites to be specifically designed for mobile users and 39% of them accentuated the need for a simple navigation system.

"People want fit-for-purpose content that offers as sophisticated an experience on their handheld device as they're used to on their PC,” says BT futurologist Ian Neild. "At the current rate, many businesses are in danger of being caught on the hop."
