tax payment The government of India launched a new online payment system of commercial taxes in the state of Bihar. At the opening ceremony that was held at eh Bihar Chamber of Commerce in Patna there were such officials as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, and Commercial Tax Joint Secretary S.K. Mazumdar.

Deputy Chief Minister Modi noted in the speech that Bihar shows much progress in developing and implementing Information and Technology innovations while outstripping other states when it comes to online governance.

Despite the statement of Modi that at least one cyber café will be provided in each locality for businessmen to spare them the need of traveling to the Commercial Tax Office to file their taxes the initiative doesn’t find much popularity among retailers in the state.

"Having cyber cafés in each area is all fine and good but to think that a mom-and-pop grocery store owner would walk into a cyber café and file his or her tax return online is simply unrealistic," said Satyendra Gupta, a 'kirana store' owner on Boring Road said.
