Ireland is considering the use of Internet casino regulations as a way to provide jobs and stimulate the economy in contrast with the United States where some groups are fiercely fighting against online gambling regulations.

A petition was submitted to the government by the Gaming and Leisure Association of Ireland to call upon creating public casinos and regulating the business sector in the country. Besides, the association asked the government to legislate moves designed to draw online gambling operators to Ireland as a base.

According to the data cited by the association as many as 10,000 people could receive jobs in case favorable conditions for online casinos to operate from Ireland are created. Furthermore it states that another 3000 jobs would come from regulation of land casinos, which presently run as private clubs. The income from the casino regulation can bring high as $68 million annually. If the regulation passed the benefits would be 100 times higher than in the US.
