comscoreAccording to the latest research held by comScore, Canada is found to be on the first place in the implementation of Internet banking among 37 global markets, being the world's most developed markets in the sector.

The figures show that in April nearly 67% of Canadian Internet subscribers were banking online as compared to other English speaking countries where the penetration level remains low - the UK (49.5 per cent), US (44.4 per cent) and Australia (41.7 per cent).

"Canadians are typically very savvy internet users, a fact that is underscored by their heavy use of online banking," said Brent Bernie, president of comScore Media Metrix Canada.

In April Canada was the first not only in the number of online banking users, but in the frequency as well. On average Canadian customers had eight usage days and 10.5 online banking visits each.

The largest number of visitors was documented on the site of RBC Financial group. It was 4.6 million visitors. The most significant growth in visitation within the last year was experienced by Bank of Montreal which indicated 22% increase.
