May 5, 2008 - 5:21pm | author: ayny | |

According to the latest reports of comScore about one third of the UK online population, in particular 10.9 mln people, has accessed their bank accounts in January 2008 by means of the Internet.

The most popular online bank of the UK Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has attracted 2.9 million unique customers during the period mentioned above. It is necessary to note that the most part of them, namely 2 mln were the customers of its subsidiary NatWest. The average visits per customer are 5.9.

Another leader of the banking market Lloyds TSB has registered 2.8 million customers. At the same time this bank is announced to be the most frequently visited one with 6.8 visits per customer.

One more Scottish bank, Halifax Bank of Scotland, has gained 2.4 million customers, who visited the site 6.1 times on average. HSBC attracted 2.37 million online banking users. The last position is occupied by Barclays Bank that has attracted "only" 1.7 million, with 5.9 average visits per customer.

It is necessary to note that these data concern only the accesses made from personal computers and the traffic from mobile devices; visits from computers at cyber cafes were not considered.
