Vietnam advisory center In Romania an e-payment office was introduced which will be fully operational nationwide by the end of 2008 according to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCTI). The office was designed to rapidly add the payment ways by card to any existing IT system.

The virtual payment office is administered by the Agency for Information Society Services which is in turn subordinate to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The agency started as an administrator of the office on August 7 discussing the decisions related to the operation and use of the e-payment office nationwide.

In the draft decision the agency proposes that any authority of the local public or central administration might benefit from the services of the virtual payment office through the mere interconnection of their systems with it.

The e-payment office will ensure transparency in supplying information and public services as well as confidentiality and personal data protection while enabling availability of information and public services.
