Today 18 counties including two in Central Nebraska can pay their traffic fines through the ePayment System called Nebraska Court's New ePayment System. So motorists can pay their set fines without a court appearance. They should go to the Judicial Branch web site www.supremecourt.ne.gov and click on the "ePayment" button. For those purposes they can use Visa, MasterCard or debit cards with Visa or Master Card logos.

According to the State Court Administrator Janice Walker this ePayment service most of all will help to streamline the administrative processes for the court system.

But this service won't be able for more serious violations such as driving while under the influence of alcohol or driving on suspended license. Those breaches will require from car drivers to appear in court.

Counties who now offer and use new ePayment system are Hamilton, Merrick, Boyd, Cass, Colfax, Cuming, Dawson, Holt, Keith, Knox, Lancaster, Platte, Saunders, Seward, Stanton, Thayer, Thurston and Washington.
