[img_assist|nid=8402|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=66|height=100]It is not a secret that in many countries tourism is a main source of income, and as the recent practice has shown, it is a pusher of progress as well. So, it became known that in Nigeria the United Bank for Africa Plc has launched a new Tourism Paycard intended to develop the e-commerce solutions.

It was launched in Abuja by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, at the National Workshop on Tourism Development Master Plan held at NICON Luxury, and was one of the 5 five tourism products introduced at the event.

The launched card is a result of the partnership of the UBA, Toursim Ministry and Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation(NTDC), which say that Tourism Paycard will be Africa’s premier tourist payment solution.

The new card will become an addition to the existing debit and credit cards. It is already known that the UBA Tourism Paycard will come  in three categories - silver, gold and platinum.

“It will enable tourists reduce dependence on cash for their expenses; the card will be a medium of payment through point of sale terminals, internet and ATMs,” Jega said Mr. Ibrahim Jega, Executive Director, Public Sector of the bank.
