online shopping According to the study conducted by the Coremetrics consumers in Australia and New Zealand are more enthusiastic about making purchases online in comparison with shoppers in the UK, which is very advantageous for businesses as they may earn money on such a trend in customers’ behavior.

Kevin Mackin, Coremetrics general manager, says that e-commerce businesses should direct their efforts towards interesting and retaining their website visitors instead of concentrating just on a search engine optimization.

“It’s okay to attract them to your site but it’s what you do with a visitor once they arrive that’s going to make or break the sale,” he said.

On average Australians made 4.4 purchases per 100 online sessions, while New Zealand made 4.0, as the study shows. Meantime, the global rate was 2.96 purchases per 100 sessions.

“The US and UK are thought to be the most tech savvy, but the conversion rates suggest otherwise when it comes to e-commerce. US consumers tend to place 3.3 orders every 100 sessions, while the UK only place an average of 1.7,” notes Mackin.
