Gartner reports that by 2012 it is expected that 75% of banks will implement Web 2.0 technologies on their sites using the existing social networks, for example such ones as MySpace and Facebook.

Another report issued by Pew Internet & American Life Project's "Online Shopping" has covered only the adult part of the US Internet users, and has announced that the Internet banking is more popular. So, the results of the survey have shown that 53% of the polled people said that they had banked online as of September 2007. And speaking about the numbers, it is necessary to say that those 53% are equal to 39% of the whole adult population of the US. The most part of those who use online banking are the people with higher-income. About 7 out of 10 responders participated in the survey of Pew have the annual income of more than $100,000, only 19% of the responders said that their income was less than $25,000 a year.

Speaking about the age, it is necessary to mention the report on online banking issued by Hitwise. According to this research group the US users participated in the survey and who have visited banking Web sites from December 2007 to January 2008 are of the middle age. 28% of the polled people were about 55 and older and only 11% are those whose age is between 18 and 24.
