Merchants get support to enhance security

Merchants using VeriFone payment systems will be rendered assistance to bring their financial mechanisms in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This will be possible under the program of Trustwave, the leading provider of on-demand data security and payment card industry compliance management solutions to businesses and organizations throughout the world.

Organizations approved by all leading card issuers like Visa Inc., MasterCard Worldwide, Discover Network, American Express and JCB which store, process or transmit cardholder information should secure their payment card industry data in conformity with PCI DSS regulation.

The move of Trustwave is directed to assist current VeriFone Point-of-Sale (POS) merchants validate compliance with the PCI DSS. Such an approach ensures an automated, Web-based validation process which will help merchants become compliant and preserve their compliance.

Merchants have a choice of four Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQ) which allows them to give answers to the questions relevant to their environment only. The registration of participating merchants is executed by Trustwave's on-demand compliance management solution, TrustKeeper®. When registering merchants are quickly and accurately identified by TrustKeeper on their level and the appropriate Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) is forwarded to completion.

Owing to TrustKeeper merchants are provided a secure portal to plan PCI DSS-mandated vulnerability check-ups and get concise reports containing detailed data on vulnerabilities while marking those requiring more attention. Besides these reports offer remediation recommendations.
