m-banking The recent survey has shown that the Australians are the least trustful users of mobile banking and other online services requiring the use of mobile phone different from conventional communication.

The conclusion was based on the survey conducted in 14 countries during which the customers were expressing their attitude towards mobile devices for making payments and banking. Among Europeans the most distrustful users were French and the British who were the most suspicious of the technology.

Being more precise, the survey has shown that 1 in 2 Australians figure that the financial operations via mobile phones are insecure. In total 78% of Australian respondents said that they would not use a mobile phone for paying the bills or shopping online.

The same question was asked in other countries and the replies were as follows: France - 86%, Britain - 79%, Belgium and Italy – 77%, the US - 71%.

"There is a great deal of money to be made in mobile payments, but only when consumers believe the security of the transaction meets or exceeds the freedom of mobile devices,'' said Jane Evans, Unisys Asia Pacific security spokeswoman.
