[img_assist|nid=7932|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=125|height=132] IMR Research has announced the results of its research on mobile banking. According to the findings m-banking is expected to flourish by 2012. These results were based on experiments and trials, which are being conducted by wireless operators and members of the financial community today.

It is expected that in 2012 884 million users will conduct 62 billion mobile banking transactions. More over the report says that the majority of the growth will occur in developing countries, where mobile will be more available than typical banking infrastructure. And as for the countries with the developed infrastructure m-banking will serve as an alternative and personalized means of access.

Also the report contained a list of wireless operators that are already offering a kind of m-banking service. The list contained such companies as NTT DoCoMo, KTF, Vodafone, Globe, Smart, TIM, AT&T and Sprint. Orascom Telecom, an Egyptian cell operator, is said to offer this kind of service, including money transfers to its 70 mln. clients this year already.
