[img_assist|nid=7789|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=63]Customers in California, Colorado, Missouri and Utah will be provided a new debit card with the Visa payWave feature under the partnership between US bank and Visa. US bank customers in Denver (Colorado) and Salt Lake (Utah) who already have a debit card can visit any local US Bank branch and request a Visa payWave–enabled debit card.
An automatic upgrade to the Visa payWave card was applied to some consumers in California and Missouri.

US Bank is increasing investments into its Denver branch as the latter was chosen to be one of its ‘PowerBank’ markets. In order to install 400 contactless vending machines in the Denver area US Bank is working with USA technologies which is aimed to provide US Bank customers with Visa payWave-enabled cards with more places to use their new contactless card.

Using Visa payWave-enabled debit cards, card holders just wave their card in front of a reader in order to pay. Funds from the card are drawn out when it is held within two inches. Card users do not need to hand their cards to a cashier.
Payment information is sent by Visa payWave onboard micro chip to a contactless card reader via short-range radio frequency waves. There is no cardholder’s name and each transaction is made with a unique encrypted security code changing every time.
