PayPal, the second on popularity payment system currently available online initiated the survey "Can't buy me love" dedicated to upcoming Saint Valentine Day. The survey was held in the USA and UK via e-mail sending of invitation to online panelist within the time framed period from December 12 to December 18, 2007. The main goal of the survey conducted by Ipsos was to find out the difference between American and British couples to the eternal subject - money. Basing on the answers of over 3,000 respondents - 60 percent of couples is arguing, at least, once a month about money.

There are some significant differences between American and British approach to financial responsibilities. Let's say in the USA the majority of couples are sharing the bank account, in the UK - the beloved prefer rather to have separate accounts. As to the paying for the dinner, British ladies would more likely split the check and the amount of tip with disregards to who had initiated the date. In the USA, in return, women believe that man should pay the bill only if he was an initiator of the date.

Despite numerous differences there are definitely some common points: at least one forth of couples- respondents would prefer online shopping in order not to disclose the real value of purchases.  No matter how far stepped the progress and development of the ecommerce, the romantic gifts are more likely to remain traditional: cards and chocolate, flower and dinners. PayPal announced the special Valentine's Day discounts and offers to simplify the process of finding the gifts and eliminating the headaches of beloved. Is PayPal worth some love?
