[img_assist|nid=8558|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=75]A recent survey by consultancy Ernst & Young show that about 65% of internal audit chiefs polled don't consider data privacy and IT fraud to be the most important issues.

Audit executives ranked corporate breaches and data-privacy regulation to be 6th in the top 10 concerns while CIOs ranked them 9th.

Senior executives were called upon by Erol Mustafa, head of IT internal audit services at Ernst & Young to treat data privacy very seriously and the issue should be addressed as part of their overall risk-management and compliance strategy.

One more study conducted by VeriSign show that the economy slump is not going to affect IT security spending.

As per VeriSign’s report only 17% of security professionals surveyed said they expect cuts to IT security spending in the next 12 months.
Online businesses should make security and trust top of the agenda if they want to keep online transactions on a high level.
