HSBC The computer system of HSBC Bank UDA is still under restoration and repair while customers’ accounts are being updated nationwide after the computer crash happened in the core banking system causing barriers to accountholders when they tried to access their accounts and funds.

Although the system supports back-up many accounts are not up-to-date which is attributed to large volume of transactions being processed by the bank daily. In light of this condition customers and bank employees are unaware of the amounts left in accounts. This came very malapropos for those who need to withdraw large amounts of money.

Besides, it is not clear whether credits and debits will post accurately and whether customers might incur fees if their accounts end up overdrawn even though they deposited money. The situation was commented by the bank spokeswoman Linda Recupero which said customers won't incur any fees in such situations.

Meanwhile administration is uncertain about what exactly caused the computer failure on the weekend.
