How will DDoS attack of Liberty Reseve affect hyips?

In the beginning of this month, most people especially those who involve in the hyip world were panicking and making kiosk because of liberty reserve website has had DDoS attacks as a result  of which the website was down for a few days and account users couldn’t log in to the website.

There were so many speculations and rumors among hyip related community in the matter of liberty reserve's DDoS attack. Some people accused that liberty reserve is a scam payment processor which wants to lock and run away with the money. Meanwhile, some others feel disappointed as liberty reserve failed to invest in a high technology and proven system to secure and protect the website before anything bad happens. Yes, this is important especially when it involves money. Not a dollar but millions of dollars are at stake.

However, people must be aware that DDoS attack could happen to any website. Even such a giant as e-gold which is protected by Prolexic has had DDoS attack a few times and the website went down. But the difference is, the website recovered within just 24 hours. Liberty reserve was blackmailed by a group of hackers who demanded some amount of money. Here is the blackmail that liberty reserve received from an email patrkell@fastem.com:

“Hello,

Well I doubt that v-money really had instructed  the party who was behind this attack, as  blackmailers usually will not reveal themselves unless for certain circumstances in order to avoid counter attack.

What does this problem have to do with the hyip world? It seems like lots of hyips are taking advantage of this situation. Liberty reserve website has recovered and functioning again since May 5th, but still some hyips have not resumed the pending withdrawal requests.

We received complaints that hyips like ROInv Ltd, sus909, and suresurfpro are still not paying, and even  hot hyips like Brics Fund and The Stoic are also having pending withdrawals issue. We are not sure what the problem is and what other excuse the admin will create to delay the payment. Basically, other than liberty reserver who was suffering from the loss of business operation, the hyip players are also suffering as they become more vulnerable to scam admins and the possibility of losing money will increase very soon.
