[img_assist|nid=8165|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=100|height=42] Earlier this year eBay Australia released the increased buyer protection plan directed to impose a ban on all payment methods except for PayPal on June 17. But last week Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a draft decision on the argument applying to eBay to postpone the policy introduction.

The ACCC noted that customers have the right to decide themselves what payment method is better for them to use.
eBay's reaction didn’t keep the public waiting. The auction is going to challenge the ACCC draft decision and instead of June 17 eBay will institute the policy on July 15.

As per some reports, a "strongly worded" letter was sent this week by eBay to its customers where the users were warned that in case they don’t conform to the new policy, their products will be immediately removed from the listings with expressly accentuated deadline.

This situation puts merchants in a confused position. Now they have to decide if they will make the investment in time and resources to make listings compliant with the policy that eBay promises will go into effect next month or they won’t.
