online banking A new online banking system was launched for Kenya customers to allow them to get easy access to banking services. The initiative belongs to Kenya’s NIC Bank.

The online service represents a dubbed version of NIC bank which means that it is fully transactional and enables not only checking bank balances online but receiving and making payments as well.

According to the statement of Mr Alan Dodd, Corporate banking director the service is the part of the bank’s course directed to provide its consumers with easy access to financial services.

“We have spent a lot of time in establishing what our customers want and we believe this is a remarkable value proposition for them. NIC customers will now be able to make transactions from the comfort of their office desks without necessarily having to physically visit the bank. It is an absolutely hassle-free system,” said Mr Dodd.

“The costs to access NIC online are relatively cheap compared to the bank branch charges. We believe that customers will be happy with the affordability of this channel vis-à-vis the benefits the system offers,” he added.

In addition to individual transactions the system has the e-pay option which allows corporate and business customers to transfer large amounts in the form of salaries and supplier payments as well as dividend and pension payments.
